FASHION TAKES ACTION IS CANADA’S ONLY NON-PROFIT FASHION INDUSTRY ORGANIZATION FOCUSED ON SUSTAINABILITY. WE WORK WITH INDUSTRY AND CONSUMERS, WITH THE GOAL TO SHIFT BEHAVIOUR TOWARD MORE POSITIVE SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS.
The Garment Worker Center (GWC) is a worker rights organization whose mission is to organize low-wage garment workers in Los Angeles in the fight for social and economic justice. GWC addresses the systemic problems of wage theft, unhealthy and unsafe working conditions, and the abusive and inhumane treatment faced by workers on-the-job.
We are a for-profit B corp with a social mission. We donate a lot of clothes to those in need, like the 13,800 winter jackets we gave to New York Cares this winter. But our mission is environmental. We believe there are more clothes than people who need clothes. We get clothes to those who need them, while also keeping clothes out of the trash.
ILRF is dedicated to achieving dignity and justice for workers worldwide.
ILRF works for a world where workers have the power to speak out and organize to defend and advance their rights and interests; a world where workers have the right to form unions and bargain collectively to secure a safe and dignified life for themselves and their families; and a world where everyone is free from discrimination, forced labor and child labor.
Labour Behind the Label is the only UK campaign group that focuses exclusively on labour rights in the global garment industry. Founded in 2001, we have 17 years of experience in awareness raising, research and lobbying in support of workers demands for improved pay and conditions. We are small but mighty in relentlessly raising the profile of garment workers who need their stories to be told. Our effective campaigninghas been instrumental in pushing UK retailers to sign the Bangladesh Accord on Fire and Building Safety, ensuring Rana Plaza victims receive long-term compensation, supporting workers in Indonesia to receive legally-owed severance pay, and campaigning with Cambodian garment workers to demand a living wage, among many other cases.
