Life of The Orange: You'll Miss Me When I'm Gone
You may have noticed the consistent orange undertones around our site or the orange fruit on different posts. You’re probably thinking, “What’s with the orange?”
When you think of oranges, you may naturally think of the tangy fruit or a glass of OJ on a hot summer day. However, behind the cheery fruit is a message that is just a bit more serious.
"You'll miss me when I'm gone." is a phrase spoken from a garment worker's perspective. Imagine a world without garment workers. We would be naked.
The orange is a beacon of curiosity and human communication. It sparks conversation for the unknown.
Picture this - someone sees the phrase, "You'll miss me when I'm gone." on the orange sticker attached to your laptop.
She/He immediately thinks:
“What’s with the orange?”
“What does that mean?”
“Why on an orange?”
“Is that a song lyric?”
“WHY THE ORANGE??”
The urge for answers takes over. She/He approaches you looking for clarification then BAM....just like that, instant conversation.
You see, it's not about the orange itself. These generic questions are actually incredibly powerful in that they are the first step towards educating one more person about the message behind it.
And that is the beauty of the orange; it entices people to question it, it reels people in, it makes it effortless to start a conversation and once you pull them in, you can talk about the truth behind the orange.
This is the foundation of MPCo. — asking, being curious, going beneath the surface, questioning the things in everyday life that we are so used to.
So never stop asking and stay interested in the unknown in the way that you did not understand the orange before, but were so compelled to learn about it.
